This 3 days trek in and around Bumthang provides a rare opportunity of enjoying the fragrance a pure natural environment that is endowed with a wide array of flora and fauna. It also provides you a golden opportunity of visiting the ancient Buddhist temples as well as monasteries.
The trek takes you though the dense forests that are mainly made up of bamboo, blue pine, maple, spruce, birch, juniper, and a wonderful, rugged landscape that is draped in incalculable varieties of rhododendrons, that will leave you virtually speechless! As you trudge along the mountainous slopes and tranquil ridges that dot the landscape of Bumthang you get majestic views of Mt. Gangkar Puensum, world’s highest virgin peak.
The best time for this trek is the latter half of spring, between April and early June when the all the varieties of rhododendrons are in fullest bloom!
