This trek offers you the unique experience of a semi-nomadic lifestyle, with a taste of the local culture as well as vernacular in the most scenic pastoral valley you could have ever imagined. The valley the trek covers falls under the protected area of SWS or the Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary in the Trashigang Dzongkha of Eastern Bhutan.
The trek is moderate and varies between 1500 to 220 meters. It takes you through the remote villages of Gengu, Merak, Sakteng, Thakthi, Joenkhar, which are semi-nomadic villages. The best time for the trek is March to June and September to November.
